- 2011 Synchro Canada
Convention
Save the date! The weekend of November 18-20, Synchro Canada will
host its 1st Annual Convention at the Sheraton Hotel in St.
John’s, Newfoundland-and-Labrador. This event, which is an
improvement and amalgamation of Synchro Canada’s annual
general meeting and High Performance Summit, will present various
workshops and sessions from Synchro Canada staff, National Team
Coaches and external experts. Workshops and sessions will be
targeted towards high performance and development coaches, domestic
and international officials, development teams, committees and
provincial representatives. We hope to see you at this new great
event! More information will follow.
- 2011 National Junior
and 13-15 Team Selections
The selection criteria for the National Junior and 13-15 Team
selections will be available to provinces and high performance
clubs at the end of March. The selection routine set videos and
music will be provided to clubs and coaches using a new technology
called Dartfish TV late next week! If you have any questions

- Tickets for the 2012
Olympic Games
For those who did not already make their order with Synchro
Canada, tickets for the 2012 Olympic Games will be on-sale starting
March 15. In Canada, CoSport is the authorized ticket reseller and
will also launch its public sale on the same day. More

- 3 mark system training
sessions
Please note that upcoming training sessions for the new three-mark
system will be held Tuesday, March 15, at 3:30 pm and Wednesday,
March 24, at 12:30 pm. More details.
- Call for Nominations
for Synchro Canada’s Development Teams
Synchro Canada has been restructuring its operational committees
in order to better reflect the current organizations’
operations and align the overall system to meet the needs of our
business. The restructuring will also increase our overall
effectiveness in achieving the performance benchmarks in the
Domestic Core Business Area of the 2008-2016 Strategic Plan.
Current committees will be dissolved and be replaced with the
below Development Teams. These teams will support Synchro Canada in
the Domestic Area of our organization. They will be advisory
committees and accountable to the Lead Staff member assigned to
each of them:
1- Coach Development Team
2- Domestic Development Team
3- Athlete Development Team (new team)
Synchro Canada is looking to recruit 15 keen individuals from
across the nation to fill various positions on the three
Development Teams. Please send in your nominations no later than

- Job opportunity at
Synchro Canada
Synchro Canada is now looking for a Finance & Administrative
Coordinator who will be primarily responsible for providing
financial and general administration services to Synchro Canada and
office staff on a daily basis. Responsibilities of the position
include: assisting technical staff in administrative matters,
website management, assisting with meetings, making travel
arrangements, assisting with reports and publications, and handling
special projects. Deadline for application is March 13. More details.

Scoring Program Training
Sessions
In the fall of 2010, Synchro Canada set the objective for
training the community on the new Synchro Canada Scoring Program
that was introduced in December 2010 for the 2010– 2011
season. In order to better prepare the community for this new
challenge, Synchro Canada is conducting two training sessions for
all members who are interested in learning the scoring program: at
the 2011 Eastern/Atlantic and at the Western Divisionals
Championships. More details.

a Success!
Over 435 delegates from a variety of sectors attended January's
CS4L Workshop, making it the largest CS4L Workshop ever!

- COC Hires Medical
Director
The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) announced that Dr. Robert
McCormack (New Westminster, B.C.) will fill the newly created
position of Medical Director. In the role, Dr. McCormack will work
with national and international organizations to shape policy and
procedures with the goal to improve coordination, efficiencies and
effectiveness of all medical aspects of the COC’s
participation at Olympic, Olympic Winter, Pan American and Youth
Olympic Games. More details.

women leaders – present and future - in sport and physical
activity across Canada. The NETWORK has been designed as the go-to
place where women can connect, build their skills, share ideas,

Camille Bowness’s grandmother. Synchro Canada would like to
