member clubs raise over $40,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation
Synchro Swim Ontario member clubs across the province were once
again in synch for pink raising an astonishing $40,330.71 during
the 7th anniversary of the annual "Burning Bright for Breast
Cancer" province-wide charity initiative in support of the Canadian

Development Course
Synchro Canada will host a competition development course in
english which will be held December 4-5 and 10-12 in Montreal,
Quebec. Please note that the registration deadline is Monday,
November 29, 2010. Synchro Canada is sorry about the short delay as
we only recently received the confirmation of the funding for the
presentation of this course. Synchro Canada is also planning at
least two other competition development courses in 2011 in Ontario
and in Saskatchewan. If you would like to host a course in your

Competition Development training
Please note that if coaches have taken or will take the
“Synchro Specific Competition Development training”,
their forms will be sent in to the Coaching Association of Canada.
However, it will not show up in their National Coaching
Certification Program (NCCP). Once Synchro Canada has been fully
approved for the Competition Development context, all of the
transcripts will be updated and their Synchro Specific Competition

- 2010 Synchro Canada
High Performance Summit
Synchro Canada is really pleased about its 2010 High Performance
Summit which was held November 19-20 in Ottawa during the SPIN
Summit and the Sport Conference Leadership. More than 30
participants, coaches and officials, attended this annual event
presenting conferences and workshop on the following subjects:
Coach/Athlete Relationship-Psychology of Recovery, Athletic
Training Applications for Injury Prevention, 2010 International
competition observations, International Strategy, Balanced Eating,
and an International Officials meeting. Thanks to everyone who took
advantage of this great event and especially to all of our
presenters, including Dr. Saul Marks and Dina Bell-Laroche.

Brunin-Brouillette, Rachel Fréchette and their coaches
supported by the Petro-Canada FACE program
Sarah Brunin-Brouillette (coach: Karine Doré) and Rachel
Fréchette (coach: Lyne Piché), who were members of
the Synchro Canada’s 2010 National Junior Team, have been
selected amongst the recipients of the 2011 Petro-Canada FACE
program. The FACE program helps to provide the athlete and their
coach with the necessary resources to close the gap and achieve
national carded status for the athlete in the short-term, and
improve coaching skills over the long-term. Congratulations!

(Women in Sport Encouragement) Fund!
The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport
and Physical Activity has announced that it is offering twelve
grants of $900 to active girls and women and/or organizations
offering sport programs targeted to girls and women. For more

Commission visit to London comes to a close
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission
for the London 2012 Games concluded its seventh visit to the
British capital, following three days of meetings with

Alberta
Aurora Synchro is participating in the Prague Christmas Prize
in early December for the second year. Last year the club formed a
team with four members from Edmonton and four from Calgary, which
was the only team from North America to compete for the 2009
Christmas Prize. That team won a bronze medal. This year two Aurora
Synchro duets are participating in Prague, Samara and Meaghan
