  2. 2011 Athlete Council Election
    Synchro Canada is now seeking to elect representation to the 2011 Athlete Council. Nominations for the following positions on the council are currently being accepted – Chair (1), Co-Chair (1), Atlantic Representative (1), Eastern Representative (2), Western representative (1). The deadline for nominations is February 2nd, 2011. Each position on the Athlete Council will be filled through a nationwide election held at each of the Provincial Championships. Please note that any 13 year and older athletes that are potentially eligible to compete at the Canadian Open or Espoir Championships are able to vote in the election.   3. 2010-2011 Club Excellence Program
    Synchro Canada is pleased to announce that the 2010-2011 Club Excellence Program is now available for clubs to access online. The application deadline for the Club Excellence Program is February 25th, 2011. All of the information is available in the Club Excellence Program section of our Website.

  4. Deadline for the February Canadian Synchronized Swimming Community Member of the Month: Wednesday, January 26
    have until Wednesday, January 26 at 5 pm (Eastern time), to send the name, a picture and an explanation of a person that you think must be the February Canadian Synchronized Swimming Community Member of the Month. To do so, please send it to e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it You can mention a performance or an extraordinary story regarding one of your swimmers or judges or even point out the hard work of one of your volunteers or administrators! Check out the last member of the month.

  6. Car rental agreement
    Synchro Canada invites all its members to take advantage of this multi national sport organizations agreement with National and Enterprise. By subscribing to the National and Enterprise Emerald Club, which is totally free, you'll have those benefits:

    - Fee for Additional Drivers has been waived ($11.00)
    - Fee for One day rentals has been waive  ($7.00)
    - Fee for Young drivers has been waived ($25.00 per day)
    - City Surcharge fees for Calgary ($5.00), Edmonton ($5.00), Vancouver ($3.00), Toronto ($5.00), Montreal ($3.00), Winnipeg ($3.00) and Halifax ($3.00) have been waived.
    - Best Rating for National Car Rental. If there is a lower price in the system than the “negotiated contracted rate”, you automatically get that price (3-4 % total cost savings in Canada, 7-8% cost savings in the USA)No Energy Recovery Fees
    - Contract includes Mini-van and SUV pricing
    - Any car classes not listed in the agreement for National Car Rental receive automatic 15% off discount/ 20% off in USA.
    - Weekly rates calculated at 6 X the daily rate (one day free)
    - Monthly rates calculated at 24 X the daily rate (up to 7 days free)
    - Fee for Emerald Club waived
    - Choose your own vehicle and collect reward miles or rental credits.
    - Enterprise can ”pick you up”

  7. Coaches of Canada and AthletesCAN Announce Implementation of Group Benefits Plan
    In 2008 Coaches of Canada began looking into the feasibility of offering its members a Group Benefits Plan that provides value in services at an affordable monthly premium. Early in 2010 AthletesCAN partnered with Coaches of Canada in pursuit of this initiative; recognizing that athletes and coaches often struggle to find affordable health care coverage. More details

  8. Code for Prohibited Conduct in Sport and the Canadian Policy on Prohibited Conduct in Sport
    Coaches of Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES), released the revised Code for Prohibited Conduct in Sport and the Canadian Policy on Prohibited Conduct in Sport this week for adoption by the Canadian sport community. More details

  10. Synchro Music Wanted
    The Jamaican Synchronized Swimming Association is looking for some resources, including pre-cut music, in order to assist them with developing their programs. If you have any music to share, please send a CD to the office so that we can include the music in our shipment of other resources. Synchro Canada is looking to get all CD’s by Friday, February 4th. Check our address in our Contact Us section.
