Wildrose stream
The Auroras’ Wildrose program is for children who have learned basic synchronized swimming skills through AquaSquirts or FUNdamentals or transfer from another club, or equivalent. "Wildrose" is the Alberta province-wide synchronized swimming competitive program, where swimmers are grouped by ages. Age is determined as at the end of the year when the competitions are held. For 2010-11 the competitions occur in 2011, so age is calculated as at December 31, 2011.
Focused on achieving personal bests, Wildrose swimmers may participate in local and provincial competitions and the MASY challenge (Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon, and B.C.).
Swimmers learn synchro-specific skills as well as flexibility, strength, and speed development.
As well as fees, this program has other requirements:
• bingo requirement
• volunteering commitment
• fundraising commitment
• wardrobe merchandise
• deposits -- all deposits are required at the time of registration by way of undated cheques
Where we have multiple teams in the same age group, we will try to make teams based on ability, and we will also try to accommodate car pools and other special circumstances. We're quite flexible! Please contact the head coach to see if we are able to work with you on a schedule. Athletes who are making a big jump in synchro skill level will meet with the head coach to build the best schedule for athlete and family.
Below is the tentative plan for September 2010 to June 2011. Until the city of Edmonton finalizes their pool allocation, we can't say for sure when or where we'll have pool time.
-
Programs are offered at the Kinsmen Sports Centre unless indicated otherwise.
-
The registration fee and 1/10 of the training fee is required at the time of registration. The balance of the training fee is due over 9 monthly payments (or one lump sum if you prefer).
-
Hours and practice times may vary slightly over the season.
-
Needless to say, all programs and fees are subject to change. Please check back.
